Cobb Elevator

This is a Cobb elevator. It is one of my favourite instruments. I use it in almost every case. It can be used to scrape or retract soft tissue from bone or to hold tissue away. Its long handle fits nicely in the palm of the hand and it can be used safely in deep spaces. The end is sharp. It is often used in spine surgery to expose the lamina of the spine for a laminectomy.
